Good morning to all my wingmen and wingwomen out there. Here are a few noteworthy and tasty bites worth digesting. Enjoy!

Turns out there are both downsides and dark sides to the current digital age we live in. Yes, blue light isn’t great for our eyes, especially before bed. But that’s not what I’m referencing.

I’m talking about fake news. Like real fake news. Not just referencing the metaphorical “fake-news” we hear from partisan members of government....but literally fake, not real, news. We basically live in a time where we all have to double/triple/quadruple check things before we can truly believe it.

And here’s a great example of why we must. Both Facebook and YouTube recently had to take down a video of what appeared to be the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, instructing the Ukrainian people to lay down their weapons and stop fighting. These videos are much more common these days and are referred to as “deepfakes”……which are persuasive-looking but are ultimately false or doctored in some/many ways. (not to be confused with a pump-fake….a basketball move that’ll be used a lot during the March Madness tournament this week) If interested, you can click HERE and watch a couple good examples in the video at the top of the page.

These are wild times. And strange. And infuriating. All at once. So what’s the morale of the story? Be aware and don’t fall for dem deepfakes…..or pump-fakes!

The Cinderella story is still alive people!! What a great day 1 of March Madness yesterday. Overall, I was happy. Here are the upsets after day 1…

• #15 St. Peter’s defeats #2 Kentucky! St. Patrick’s Day…..more like St. Peter’s Day! (…I’m giving it my all here)

• #11 Michigan defeats #6 CO State

• #12 Richmond defeats #5 Iowa

• #12 NM State defeats #5 Connecticut

• #9 Creighton defeats #8 San Diego St

• #9 Memphis defeats #8 Boise State

So what’s the lesson here? You gotta shoot your shot!! As the great Wayne Gretzky said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

Like so many areas around the US, North Dallas is straight booming! But not just in terms of real estate prices. Several of the world’s largest companies have moved their headquarters to North Dallas (i.e. Plano, Frisco, McKinney, etc…) for obvious reasons. Like affordable living, great amenities, robust talent pool, great school systems and amazing people (…trust me!!).

Here's a great example of the level of talent roaming these parts. I will never again miss a Plano City Council Meeting! For real though, I respect this dude’s cardio. #micdrop

Two obvious takeaways here:1. If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.2. You gotta shoot your shot playa!!!
